After posting a casual #trufflefriestuesday Instagram I had the idea to structure a casual night with friends around truffle fries. I can tell you that at least in my circle of friends, the consensus is that adding truffle oil to anything will only make it a thousand times more delicious. So I wanted to create an opportunity to make my own truffle fries to share (using my spiralizer), and little homemade sliders seemed like the perfect complement.
As much as I love a good burger, eating an entire hamburger, plus fries and a few glasses of wine turns your meal into quite a calorie-bomb and often leaves you feeling stuffed. That’s exactly why I love sliders! And honestly, not enough restaurants serve them. They’re the perfect way to enjoy a burger while still leaving plenty of room for all the extras.
This slider making kit from Cost Plus World Market is the answer to all of your at home slider making troubles since it includes a mold (to evenly form your mini patties), a basket (to keep them from falling through the grill grates) and cutter (to trim average buns into the perfect size).
To round out the meal, I finished with an easy, summery dessert – vanilla ice cream topped with caramelized nectarines. In an effort to keep it moderately healthy, I used my go-to Halo Top ice cream which uses all natural ingredients, but is still low-calorie, low-sugar, and high-protein compared to your average frosty treat (just 240 calories in a pint!).
